A Tahitian pearl is a naturally dark saltwater pearl grown in the Pinctada margaritifera oyster — the black-lipped species — in the lagoons of French Polynesia. The dark body colour is entirely natural: no dye, no baking, no colour treatment. Tahitians grow in a range of tones including black, peacock green, silver, aubergine, and eggplant, often with shifting overtones across the same pearl.
At 9–10mm these are substantial but wearable earrings. The six-bead sterling silver stack above each pearl is what makes the design distinctive — vertical rhythm, structure, and a slim elongating line that flatters the face. More design-driven than a classic pearl stud, more polished than a costume drop.

The six-bead stack sits above the lobe and the pearl drops below — the earrings frame the face with a soft vertical line. Style notes:
- Pulled-back hair — the stack detail reads clearly
- Tailored blazers + knitwear — the dark pearl plays against light layers
- Evening — against bare shoulders or a silk top, the peacock overtone shifts beautifully under warm light
Put on after lotion and perfume have absorbed. Sleep without them.
- Wipe each earring with a soft cloth after wear — skin oils accelerate silver tarnish and can dull pearl luster
- Polish the silver stack with a silver cloth periodically (every 2–3 months for daily wear)
- Avoid perfume, chlorine, saltwater, and hairspray on the pearls
- Store flat in the pouch, not on an earring tree where the silver can rub and scuff the pearl
- Each pair's colour is slightly unique — a natural feature, not a defect
- Never ultrasonic
